Brake light switch replacement

So out of the blue today my brake light switch decided to stop working. Went to autozone to get a replacement, and they kit includes the switch and an entire new harness.

My questions are.. Where the hell is the switch located? The pictures in my haynes manual aren't helping. Also it looks like my remote starter is in the way? There's a black box to the left of my brake pedal that says "Valet" on it.

Do I have to replace the entire harness or just the switch?

well it seems as if the switch was somehow knocked out of position. Sunday I readjusted the switch and it's been fine since.
