Hi,

I replaced all my rotors and pads (ceramics) and have been going about 1000 miles or so without incident. Just over the weekend, I developed a sqeaking sound from the front (not sure what side). When I installed I made sure to lube everything and torque to specs (as per my Haynes manual). The sqeaking happens right before it comes to a stop and seems to get louder the harder I press. I'm going to take it apart again and re-lube but I was looking for ideas on what might be causing it. The pads and rotors were all from Autozone.

Thanks..

Squeaking and squealing with fresh brakes could be something as simple as a rock that's been sucked in between the rotor and pad. Happens all the time on the rally car. Have you been doing any spirited driving down any granular gravel roads? :D When we pull into service, we just pull off the wheel, unbolt the caliper, and whack it with a hammer to break free all the junk.

Just normal driving. But I'll take off the pads and hit it with some brake cleaner.

Thanks..

Dont use brake cleaner. pull wheels off and use some dishwash and a rag followed with a spray from the hose.
