got a brochure in the mail with $750 cash back offer and also it stated was pre approved for $x amount. My question is how hard is it to actually get the loan with Ford for this amount and get actually approved or once pre approved is it pretty easy. Will you have to show any proof of income, etc to get this loan amount....thanks

I've never heard of ANY loan amount getting preapproved without proof of income. Why would any lender do that? May as well drop those brochures off at the local homeless shelter if it were that easy.

I got one of those back in '89. I used it to buy my brand new '89 Mustang GT. I traded my '86 T-Bird TC in on it. The T-Bird was financed through FoMoCo Credit so I'm guessing that they had all the info they needed to make a pre-approved offer to me.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the offer came directly from FoMoCo Credit.

It's like a credit card mailer. You're pre-approved for $xxxxxxxxxx but still need to go through the process to actually get it. All they're doing is getting credit info from Experian, etc, and saying 'this guy should be ok for credit based on credit rating' but you may or may not qualify for the whole thing.

yeah thats what i thought..i just wasn't sure if they would need tons of documents pertaining to income and such or basically you fill out forms and paperwork and all would be set

They'll call for of employment- they'll call your employer to verify. Then they'll run the credit again, not usually a big deal.

I got one of those in the mail too, but for a new Expedition. Guess they think my 98 is tooooooooo old now! lol

I also requested the brochure hoping for the $750 as not all people get it. It took 3 weeks and I did NOT get the $750 but instead the same crappy APR they already have for everyone. So I requested it again, this time to my parents, my wife's condo and me again. My parents got the brochure in 6 days WITH the $750. Still nothing at my address or my wife's condo. It's my educated guess that you get expedited handling AND the $750 if you've been a Ford customer in the past. My Ranger was bought new by my brother, not me, so Ford doesn't have my info.

I tried using my parents $750 and we found a loophole whereby I put my mother and my name on the title then my mother would drop off a week after the papers were signed however since I also got the $500 early preorder incentive in my name (my address) it was one or the other. There was no loophole I could find and my salesman spoke with there marketing rep to no avail. I also looked for an old, beat-up Explorer for the Explorer owner loyalty $1500 rebate. You have to own it for 30 days to be eligible. I looked for something below $1000 but couldn't find anything. If you have a friend willing to "sell" you his Explorer for a month and then sell it back to him, he'd save you $1500 bucks!

I've never bought a Ford and I was given the $750 with the brochure, along with the APR info and the pre-approval amount.

I also tried using the $750 rebate without success. Mainly, because my current 2007 Eddie Bauer is in the company's name (company car) and the $750 rebate was in my name to my home address. The 20011 Limited is also a company car titled as such, and at the company's address.

I did receive the $1,500 Loyalty and the $1,000 Auto Show rebates.:)

The $750 customer loyalty coupon comes with an expiration date. I know this because when I was working the deal with my local dealer, they knew I had recieved it AND that it would probably expire before I could take delivery.

So, I asked the dealer to guarantee the incentive to make the sale and they refused. (eff them!)

So I walked on that deal and contacted Ford to get another coupon...the service yuck responded that "they were not authorized to re-issue me a coupon. Whats' up with that? I've waited 13 years to buy a vehicle and Ford is going to play hardball with me for $750 on a $39k sale? I don't understand their thinking.

Im sure there are a few people with titles to Explorers that they have junked . You can just "buy" an "Explorer" from them. Title it in your name for a month and get the $1500 off. :D

The $750 coupon is not a "Loyalty" incentive. The coupon I had expires 3/8/11. And was valid starting 1/7/11. It is for an Explorer in stock. I received mine with the brochure I requested on the internet.

When we bought ours we were told we didn't even have to trade our 2005 in to get the $1500.00 incentive just prove we owned it.
