2000 Ford Explorer XLT
Hopefully I am posting this in the correct section of the forum, correct me if I am wrong as I am new to the forum. Lately some very strange issues have been occurring with my 2000 Explorer XLT, V6 SOHC. First, the truck stalls when attempting to accelerate after shifting it into drive. This does not happen all the time, maybe once out of every 15-20 starts. It will either sputter and stall or sputter than accelerate quickly before driving normally. Also, there is a burning smell after driving for only a few minutes. I have also noticed the car driving a bit sluggish, like something is pushing against the car to keep it from moving forward or backward freely. It feels like driving in first or second shift and letting go of the gas, that feeling of the motor pushing keeping it from rolling freely. I get a similar feeling (no extra noise) just driving in D, and when stopped at a stop sign or red light, even on flat ground, the vehicle does not move, and i have to accelerate more just to get the car moving. I'm sure I have numerous problems all together and the two aren't really related. I'm not as concerned as the stalling, because its been doing it over a year, but i would like to know if it could turn into a serious issue.

Emergency brake is not down. I barely use it. Probably has been months since it has been touched so I doubt that is the issue but ill pull off the wheel and take a peek in the morning.

All that a no CEL or trouble codes?

Ive had an emissions leak code for almost a year, the stalling issue has been almost a year, the burning smell has been a few months, but the trouble with acceleration just started today.
