C4 Shifter Choice

Im stuck on whether or not I want to go with a gate type shifter or a ratchet type shifter for my c5, it will retain forewards pattern VB for now, but im still looking for a quick 1 to reverse shift which im not sure I can get with a gated shifter so im looking at B&M ratchet shifters. Can anyone offer some insight?

-That one I thin will give the fastest drive to reverse shift dur to the option to lift it up and go straight to reverse.
