I plan to install cab running lights onto my 97 xlt. You know those amber clearance lights you usaully see on big F 250s n such.. well yeah i wanna put those on my explorer. I was wondering if anyone knows if its actually possible to do.. or can they only be installed on pickups?

Unless you put them right along where the w/s & cab meet and run the wires under the w/s molding you will have to drill holes in the cab for the wires. Not really a bad thing but some people get nervous drilling into the cab roof.

i assume thats how they're done on bigger trucks is to drill the roof, seems to me like that'd be the best way. 1500th post btw :p

umm, yeh i cant really find too many posts on this subject... anyway does anyone know of anyone who has done this before on their explorer? or if they know that it can be done relatively painlessy since they dont sell these lights with intructions for explorer ( mostly dodge rams )?

thanx

I actually just saw a sport track the other day that had clearance lights on the roof. It didnt look half bad.
