Cam timing questions

I've changed the head gasket on the LH drivers side head. I do have the cam tool kit. So how do I get the engine at TDC? If I put that tool on, is the balancer notched? Do you just put it on ramdomly?Also the instructions for the repair says DO NOT rotate the engine counterclockwise but the tool instructions say rotate the engine counter clockwise. So any help to get me back on track would be great. Im kinda stuck at the moment. Also, must I time the other cam if it has not been disturbed?Thanks

Is it the 4.0L V6 engine? I'm in the Nashville area (Franklin) and may be interested in renting your cam kit for the same job (bent valve).

I do have the 2005 Ford factory service manual for my Mustang (4.6 V8). My factory manual also covers the 4.0L V6. What part /tool are you getting hung up on?

What timing kit do you have? OTC?
