I recently had an alignment done and the guy said i didnt have any cam bushings so he installled, I believe he called it an eccentrics kit, but I dont know if thats the brand or thats what its called. I'm getting new lift coils (2.5 rancho)and want to know if I'll be able to get a proper align with this kit; or would I need new shims and cam bolts?

I have the same coils up front on my 94xlt i went ahead and bought the camber and caster kit from fourwheel parts it was like 60 bucks.and everything worked out fine when i got the alignment done.

how much were you charged for the alignment? I talked to this guy at Dan's Auto Service and he said it could run up to 4 hours and it was a pita for him. He wants to charge me $50 bucks an hour plus the price of the kit.

Giant, I have lots of good news for you. First of all, if you recently had an allignment with camber bushings put in they were probably because of negative camber ( tires like / \ due to old spring). With the new springs your camber would tend to go like \ /. The same bushing however can be used it correct both, you just twist it 180*. Chances are however that the one he put in won't be enough even in the other direction, but you can change the bushings yourself, and it's not really that hard. You loosen the balljoint pinch bolt, take of the snap ring, and pull out the bushing. It helps to have the big socket (1 1/2 or 1 3/8) to turn the bushing while you pry it out.

Uh...so whats the wrench rating for this project? Ill be okay if its around 2-2.5:hammer: I just dont want my wheel fallin off and  How much work would have to be done to get it aligned after I have installed the new bushings and which is the cheapest place to get the kit?

***EDIT*** After some research, Ive found that there are different degree cam/caster shims. Would 0-2 deg. be adequate?

replacing the bushings is cake its not hard at all.byrd 91 gives the directions in his post its fast and all i paid for my alignment was like 40 bucks and i dropped it off and picked it up like an hour or two later thats just cuz of all the cars they had to do that day.I tried to do it my self but i figured with new tires and not wanting them to go bad my self i just took it in.all it is,is one nut(top ball joint) pull the old bushing out push the new one in and tighten the nut back on.

Do i need to put the coils on before I know which bushings I need? I know there is someone that will see this who has 2.5'' coils. Help me out!
