Camburg 6" for 2nd gen Explorers/Ranger Edge

funny you should say that...on the drivers side the resi clears fine no issues at all...on the passenger side since it's a two piece upper arm i have less room to clear the shoack and resi so i had to mount the passenger upside down, resi on the lower shock mount facing up...i called bilstein b/c the recommend mounting it resi on top but they said i would have no problem they just say it's better to mount it on top if you're doing a lot of offroad racing(since thats what the shock was designed for) but man what a world of difference they're so awesome i'm so impressed i'm thinking about doing the rear too....camburg said all you have to do is get a ranger rotor b/c it mounts the same it's just larger so anywhere really, Ford or a local parts store....you thinkin about doin it?

thought you got rid of those stock arms, it should clear no problem then with the new ones, you just need to make sure it clears it at full droop

ya i'll be getting the new arms once i finish school b/c i need my truck everyday now...i can't have it outta commision...once i get the new arms however they will clear no prob but for now w/the old arms i need to have the one mounted upside down...it's only temporary but it does look kinda funny....so anyways i'll give you all an update in a week and a half when i get outta school and get the new arms on...

ya im thinking about getting the kit. so grab some rotors off an edge, will our calipers and pads work with the bigger rotors? also, anyone know where u can buy extended brake lines for the 2nd gen X? guess i need to get ahold of camburg to confirm everything.

if you find some extended brake lines let me know too...hey i though you were gonna sell your X. i thought i saw an ad for it on DR a while back.

camburg was gonna make the lines for me...any fab shop would do it...it's just steel braid and fitting's...oh and i'm not gonna go to pismo my spindles will be at mcneil that weekend getting fabbed up for the new arms

arghh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hey white96x, ive been trying to get ahold of chad, can u do me a big favor and tell him to call Arvin(me) about the rear fenders?. thanks bro.

does anyone know if the 3.5'' spindles made for the edge will fit our trucks? I know the 3'' ones do but when i contacted fabtech they said they didn't know.

Ya i had the X up for sale a while ago but had next to no interest. So after a full service (Everything) im sticking with it. its almost paid for so i might as well. I think im gonna pick up the kit this weekend and then grab some rotors and be puttin it on. i will just keep it tucked in my room till i have everything. but then i have to redo my shock hoops cause my kings wont cycle the full travel of the kit, oh well, more fab work for me. Hey boomin, wanna buy some spindles ;)

if you want to take them off asap then im game. I need some bad and now, I just need to get rid of this nitrous kit.

I found the 3.5 ones for 250$ shipped so thats why i was wondering if they would fit

For the Camburg spindles the 4-door 5.0l brakes will fit. The only explorer they did was an explorer sport-trac and those have the smaller brakes. And yeah, Camburg does some pretty trick work. They made me a set of longer tig-welded shackles to clear some Deavers and man, they look so sexy they should be banned from daytime television.

just closed the deal. Will be pickin up the kit tonite or tomarrow. gettin it from a dude who ran it for less than 6 months. Getting everything, so after i sell the shocks and brakelines and my PC lift spindles, ill only be down maybe 5-600. what a deal. cant beat that IMO. will post when its all done

Oh boy do we need to make a deal on that PC lift.....

hey im new to this site and i have a problem...i cant seem to find a replacement uni-ball for my ranger... i have the fabtech 5.5 with uni-balls in the upper arms...fabtech gives me a part number but the number is for a ball joint (like the stock one)...where can i get the uni-ball...if u need pics i have pics

hifidelity-welcome...any fab shop can get you any size uni-ball for around $50 each.

i called fabtech and they gave me a part number for a ball joint....come to think of it i think i asked for a ball joint instead of a uni-ball....they're two totally different things right??? i should probably call them up and ask for a uni-ball instead of the ball joint....also did the fabteck lift i have come with the option of uni-balls or ball joints........
