hey taknitezX2, how much would it be to get the bump cans and get it installed if you dont do it yourself?

Dave- I dont know what it would cost to have someone install them. after u buy the bumps and cans, i would bet it'd probably be maybe 100 bucks or so. it takes a while cause u have to cycle the suspension to so where the cans need welded and such. im gonna attempt to set em up myself, and just ask for mounting tips and it all should be fine.

yeah thats what i thought, i was gonn pick up some fox air bumps soon but my buddy who has a welder just left for school and im gonna be busy with school too so ill probably just have em installed. i think im gonna only use about 2-2.5" of bump because its mounted on the frame and i dont want like 6" of bump on a 11" travel truck. how much of a stroke will you be using?

well the bumps are only 4'' stroke. i'll probably use like 2-3'' of it for now, and when i finish designing my front end i will redo it to use it all. but they should help the control of the front end quite a bit regardless.

i know they only come in the 4" stroke but you can install some piece that will shorten the stroke length, thats what ill probably do because i dont want the bump to be on my arm while the truck is just sitting

ya you can shorten the stroke. or hey, just mount the can higher so u have space from the arm and only let the shaft compress 2-3''. i wonder how it would ride if it was resting on the arm...hmm...neways, i just picked up my cans from Kartek.

i think i might order some today. im going to richer racing, a fab shop in SD, to see what he says becasue im having him build my truck, hopefully it will be finished for this winter's desert season

well i just talked to jonny richer from richer racing and decided to just start over and go with the camburg kit, hopefully it will be on within the next few weeks. hey white96x where did you get those spindle snouts for you set up?

The 6.0 kit is a good setup. Upgrade that sucka to some 2.5'' shocks and some 2.5'' bumps. mmmm.... and the deavers and tripple bypass in the rear. mmmm.... what did he say about u wanting bumps though?

well ive had nothing but trouble from my arms and they havent even been off road so he and i decided that i might as well start over with the 6.0. He said the 6.0 is a killer kit and he rode in camburg's new 1475 truck and it handled superbly. as for shocks i already got a 8.5 x 2.0 fox resi and i might have him set me up dual 2.0s. for the rear im getting the deavers and fox 2.0's and air bumps. wish i had the money for some 2.5's and bypasses but i dont right now. :(

i asked him about the air bumps up front and he said they really werent necessary since im not running an LT kit and that i could just get some new rubber bump stops that should work fine for the 6.0, he said i would need them for the rear though. hopefully we'll get this thing built soon!

ya i see that too. i was lookin at the front and rear today, and i think this pair of bumps i picked up are gonna go in the rear due to the fact that the explorer has limited up travel due to the rear fenders. I think that with deavers and bumps it will work rather well compared to just the deavers alone. Dave, who are u orderin ur deavers from, maybe if we put a order 4 2 pairs in we can get a little discount u know what i mean. now i need to find another pair of bumps for the front i think though. hmmm..

yeah the deavers, resi's and bumps will be unstoppable in the rear, at least thats what i was told. Jonny Richer actually has the deavers at his shop so i dont have to order them, sorry bout that. He is also ordering me the whole kit since he can get it for 1,400 from the guys at camburg because they are friends. hey i thought you were gonna stop building the explorer, sell it, and work on that muscle car...

well i just got done installing the rear shocks. 5150s 255/75 valving and let me tell ya that it does make a nice difference. keep the rear nice and firm. as for the muscle car, my older bro decided that hes gonna do most the work and thats actally fine with me cause its not quite my scene. i cant see myself letting go of the X, to many memories as a driver in the front seat and in the back seat if u know what i mean. so ya, it will be built a bit to be able to withstand some decent offroading.

sounds like a good idea. 255/75 is the valving i got in the front for my new shocks and im hoping that will work a lot better. did you get rid of your camburg kit jeff because i thought you bought one a while ago?

ya i had to get rid of the 6.0 kit that i had bought due to some sudden money issues. go figure huh. but its ok. after i get deavers, it will be good. my front end with the 2.5'' kings is a world of difference and works very will for the upgrade i did. so with the rear done, it wont be to bad

dave the snout that i got for the spindles came off of the stockers....i saved them after i did the pro comp spindles....good thing i did

damn i should have done that, guess ill start looking for some stock spindles then...

I see yall talking bout the Extended Brake lines that comes with the kit, do yall know if they can be bough seperatly, ive searched and looked on the net and cant find any other info bout Extended lines for the front of a 2nd gen....

Sorry bout getting off topic..

you should be able to buy just the brake lines from camburg. Call them and ask. they are actually for the edge but happen to fit the explorer too. when u run their 6.0 kit, u are using edge brake lines.
