Hey guys i was hoping one of the bright guys here in the group could help me with this

Hey has anyone lost the use of there power locks
my wife drives a 2000 ZX3 with "power locks" however manual windows
anyway the thng is one day she came hoe and told me that the doors stopped responding to the Keyless entry at tthe same time she noticed that the switch in the door did not actuate the locks ether. So after examining the fuse panel i noticed no fuse listed for the door lock or back hatch release which by the way does not work either. My question is has anyone had this problem if so whats the fix also where is the f%^king fuse i mean really i spoke with two differant ford "stealerships" and they had NO info as to the location of the fuse one guy had an idea that i may be located with the alarm relay which makes sense but had no idea how to diagnose this told me the all to famous line "Ah I think you should bring it in" When did they stop giveing out useful information... Sorry about the *****ing but i could really use some help thanks

I don't know much about Escorts, but swing by an autoshop or somewhere and see if you can find a Haynes manual. They have about EVERYTHING you'd need to know in them. Sorry I can't be of anymore help.

There is a fuse somewhere. Either under the dash or under the hood. There just has to be.

If all things failed, go to a alarm shop. They're great at trouble shooting electrical problems. Good luck to you, man.

Also, you might want to try a Focus Forum or something. If there is one that is.

Or you could always take it to a Ford dealership and pay an arm and a leg.....

thanks for the alarm shop tip

i can't go to a dealership it is just "unholy"

I think there has to be a fuse to but locating it is another story it is not in the dash panel and not lsted under thehoood i think is probably thrown in with ththe keyless entry crap ie alarm

thanks all

oh by the way i went to a focus club board asked the same question three days no responce

this board kick ass

Does your fuse panel on passenger side look like this?

If it does, look for a 20 amp fuse on the back of the block (yes, I said the back:D )

edit: I should add. you have to drop the block to get to the back of it. the "central locking module" fuse is back there

You know what i heard one of the ford dudes say "tell the guy to look at the back" I did not know what he ment now it makes sense i will be tearing into in this weekend thanks for the tip on droping the hole thing out i hope it works
but correct me if i am wrong but it seems as though all the juice get to the panel through that connection so i best be extra carefull eh?

thanks all
