Hello everybody
I Got a 2004 ford explorer xlt with 174k miles I Need to know if i can take out the ac compressor with out messing up my heating and defrost there are conflicting post saying that the ac compressor helps with defrost and heating... but I dont see how that is if the ac compressor is DEAD......
What im wanting todo is replace the ac compressor with a modified alt for my stereo system to charge my batts in the rear so there is no power fluctuation with my stock power no head light dimming ect...

the ac if activated will dehumidify the air so that it will not fog your windows (only in defrost/windshield vent mode). it has nothing to do with your heat.
in most cases you can roll the windows slightly to get rid of the fog/moisture, the ac will not be working anyway if it's below 40F.

get a large capacitor you should have one anyway if you want to run more then one amp you dont need two alternators
