I have just gone to all of the muffler shopes around my house and they all said that it is not possible to put duals on a 93 because there is no room for the second pipe. Is this true? Is there some way that I could get duals on my 93?

Yes you can get duals.....

but when i got them i lost my spare tire mouting spot so it stays in the trunk

PEACE

It is possible to get duals and keep the spare down there; but most shops won't want to do that work because it's really a very tight difficult fit on a 1st gen. Also, in my experience you would lose some backpressure and low end power with duals on your engine, unless the pipes are so small they look silly or you've dropped a V8 in it.

It is possible, but it is absoultley not worth the price or the effort. It is a common misconseption that dual exhaust will make more power than single. This is not completely true. A single 2.5" ehxaust will flow just a well as a dual 2". This is especially true for a small displacement engine (like the 4.0L).

wear master in garden city will do it. since you are in ypsi,. try maynards mufflers. they did my budies ranger 4.0. tell them joe from trugreen sent you.

I used to have duals on my old 92:D

i just got back from tuffy and the guy said that he had it done to his 93 and it sounds great. Should I suggest to the mecanic to put the mufflers where the spare tire is so that I can get duals. He said it would cost around $350!! Is that too much?

mine cost 175 $ including the flowmaster muffler and chrome tips included to.

It cost me 50$ extra to upgrade to the Stainless stelll tips but oh well

350 is alot of money:eek:

i was quoted 375 @ wear master in garden city. maynards did my buddy's ranger for like 250.

what was the place that quoted you at 175? Does it sound better than the stock crap?

midas muffler did mine. $280 removed spare, installed flowmaster 40 series with dual outlets and ran pipes out the back with tips

They really have to take the spare out??!! Why can't they just go around it? What did you do with the spare? Can I get one of those small ass tires and put it under there because if I get a flat in the middle of nowhere I want to have a spare.

you might get away with a small spare i run 31x10.5-15's and i couldnt use the spare anyways so i dont miss it plus i have a hidden hitch under there not much room

dude, wear master in garden city will do it and you can keep your spare...the only shop that i could find that would do this in fact! they quoted me 375 though for flowmaster.

sounds kinda high for a 100 bucks i dont mind not having the spare underneath

that's kinda ****ty that they take your spare away. What do you do if you got a flat?

walk (j/k)..i wanted to get dual exhause but there really isnt any room unless u remove the spare...u may find a shop that will do it but there arent many around...u could put the spare in the back
