i would like to get the flowmaster 40 non-delta muffler. i noticed that i have a dual input/single output stock muffler. i just want to do a cheap quick install for now and upgrade later. am i able to install the flowmaster to all my stock tubing? i noticed that many of the elites on this site have all had a muffler shop do it for them, why can't i do it myself?

if i'm not mistaken the flowmaster will be shorter than the factory one. if you already have the muffler then take it to a muffler shop and tell them to just switch out mufflers. if you do it that way should cost less than $75.

If you have access to a wire feed welder there is no reason you can't do it yourself. I wouldn't recomend trying to clamp it in. That will lead to leaks and IMHO looks like something a redneck would do (no offense to rednecks). If the Flowmaster is shorter than your current muffler you can get a piece of scrap tube from any local muffler shop and use it to fill in the gap.
