Can someone recommend a good Penetrating oil?

PB Blaster is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Ive tried about everything out there and IMHO its the best.

I can say those EXACT same words.

PB is way better than WD.
( I am not saying WD is bad either )

FYI- I think WD-40 is a better lubricant than PB. I still use WD-40 for typical household/shop type "fix the squeak" type things. PB is a much better penetrant.

Indeed. WD-40 has its place (I soak my pistols in it after a day at the range) but there's no better penetrant than PB B'laster.

www.pbblaster.com

All their stuff is great, and their site lists the local distributors too. Fastenal is my favorite place to get them as they can get all their products.

You're probably not going to believe me, but GM makes a product called GM Heat Valve Lubricant, available at any GM parts counter, that will loosen better than PB Blaster, WD-40, or anything else that I have tried.

yeah PB sucks as a lubricant.
but then again it is not meant to be a lube.

i used to swear by pb blaster, till my shop wel BG gung ho and we got everything BG which isnt a bad thing, the BG "INFORCE" is by far the best penetrating spray out there, example, ever had one of those old rusty bike chains, soaked in inforce and was better than new, and stayed like that for atleast a year, exhuast manifold bolts, exhuast pipe bolts, u bolts, anything, i have been amazed at this stuff. i think the torch use in the shop has declined about %90,

PB for me as well... I've used some other stuff, but day in PB is the first thing I grab for. If it doesn't work, the only thing that will is the Ford Wrench (torch!).

One of the seemingly unknown tricks to making any penetrating oil work is to get the part vibrating (hence many people telling you to start treating a week before you want to remove the fasteners).

Spray with PB, then tap with a steel hammer in a way that doesn't damage threads. Works wonders. I've had rusted exhaust bolts come right off with my fingers after a PB treatment.

Oh - BTW, Using WD40 on exhaust manifold bolts (anything that gets really hot) during assembly will virtually guarantee that they will be welded on the next time you need to remove them. WD40, while a good oil for its intended purpose (water displacement) is NOT a good lubricant for engine parts or parts that get hot. Use anti-seize instead - you'll be very glad you did.

I was able to find PB Blaster on my first try to an auto store...That was shocking!
I'll see how it works.

Penetrating oil

DOW Moly Penelube. The Moly makes it kinda expensive, but it works great. You can get it from a machine parts distributer like Kaman Industrial Tech.
