My 1993 Explorer 2WD speedo needle starts to bounce at 50mph. I want to change the cable but can't find where the cable goes through the firewall from the instrument cluster.

Pretty sure these use Hall effect sensors?

You might check the speedometer drive gear in transmission tail housing

And if the gear looks good, follow the cable from the tail housing to the firewall.
