The tumblers in my ignition cylinder recently went bad and before this about a month ago my shifter broke off so this past saturday my local pick a part had a 50 percent off sale so i got a used steering column put it in everything went in perfectly fine but now when i try to start it it will not even try to turn over and my anti theft light continuously blinks

Are you using a key with a chip?

How did you cut the key to the ignition (just curious, that's all)? Also, have you programmed the chip in the key that you cut (I'm assuming no)? The anti-theft module that receives signal from the transponder key sits right next to the tumbler... I'm guessing you changed that with the rest of the steering column parts. This is, I don't know if the coded key signal is stored in the vehicle PCM or the actual anti-theft module. I would try taking your old key that you used before and holding it right next to the new key while you try to start it. If this works, we'll know the key code is programmed in the PCM. Also, if this works and you have two of the older keys, you can program a new key yourself. If you only have one of the old keys you'll have to go to the dealership and pay them an arm and a leg... or tape your old key to your new one and let it ride .
