Scamp

Well Gerald,
Patrick wants to know what they found out with Scamp. He is pretty worried he had to go to the vet. It couldn't be that good Colorado air or should I say lack of it.

Infomercial

Just saw an interesting infomercial. It seems somebody got a hold of our idea already. :D

yeah, laugh now... you won't be laughing one day when we're on the trail and I'm enjoyed freshly "rotissiried" chickens and hot dogs and hamburgers, and I don't share any :). Althoguh as I explained the PIAA's run cooler then other lights while going much brighter, I can't explain how I'm no engineer, but it works that way. :)

Gee Matt, maybe you should get one of them college degrees so you can explain that...

:)

college degree? Try high school diploma... LOL j/k I am current working towards a college degree but it has nothing to do with lighting :). A basic explanation of how it works is it uses superwhite bulbs, which produce the same output as the regular bulb, but at a much lower wattage. For example I have superwhite 85watt bulbs in my 80 XT's and they produce the same, if not more output as the stock bulbs that came with it, which were 120 watts. Even at 120 watts though they run cooler then the hellas I used to have, partially because it uses true glass lenses and aluminum housing... geez why is it that everything turns into a discussion about lights with you guys? LOL

I'm working on scanning my pics of CCR2000. We took 6 rolls, so going through, scanning some, figuring out where and what the pics show is taking a while. I'll have them up on my web site soon.

By the way, the group pic turned out great!

Wow looks like you guys had a great time. I gotta come to one of these things, I might have to fly out there or drive the Lexus and blast the trails copilot with one of you guys(bad back+Explorer+semi cross country drive don't mix), but I'll be at one here soon.

Gerald/Perry: You guys have Shelties? I have one too, her name is Melanie.

Let me rephrase that, Melanie and I will join you guys sometime soon ;) I dont know about my wife, she's kinda skittish. My son would have a blast though.

Stephen since you do want to come and since your son would have a blast have him Drive the Explorer and you fly. Then you guys could be a team! Its really amazing what you learn on these types of trips about what your vehicle can do and what you can do for that matter.

Stephen,
We had three or four stock Explorer's on the CCR2000 trip so you would have to ask them how there's went. All I know they all came back in one piece at the end of the day so they must have done O.K.
I do know they had good stories around the camp site at night.
This trip we left the Shelties at home and I'm glad we did, because it was a littel ruff.

Stephen, thats why you have your son drive your truck! You can ride in it watch him/drive it if you want. Plus play musical chairs in all the other Explorers on trail.

Stephen - as Peter Weber can attest I LOVE having passengers in my vehicle (mainly because I then have dedicated photographers and me being the greedy person I am, they are taking pictures mainly of MY explorer), but its also good to have another eye watching the trail for you (as Peter found out when I slid off the trail though, I don't ALWAYS listen to my passengers but usually I do) :). Truckhaven is January 19-21 if I remember right, tehres a link to the calendar on the main page and you should find it there. If no one else lets you, you can ride in mine, though Peter's got dedicated co-pilot whenever he wants it :).

Sliding off of the trail huh? Maybe I'll ride with Ray ;)

Anyways, I have a ski weekend we usually hold that weekend with customers, I'll check my calendar tomorrow and let y'all know.

Stephen,
I haven't slid off any trails yet Knock knock on wood, so you would be pretty safe with me. Also you should ride with a stocker at least one day, so you can see how much they really can do. You will be amazed. A lot of the Ford engineers rode with the Big Dawgs at Truckhaven, but one of the guys that rode with me told me, he expected the big dawgs to be able to do just about anything, but he was absolutely amazed that stock trucks like mine (at the time it was pretty much stock) could do what we were doing. It really blew him away. Your's will do just fine.

Man I wish I could have gone. I was planning on it, but I had to spend that weekend building the cabin. The logs are coming on Wednesday and I just barely got ready for them today so I would have been in trouble if I had taken that weekend off. I have to get it up before it gets snowed in, but once the cabin is closed in I will have plenty of free time so I will be at Truckhaven for sure.

I know it might be a little early to be talking about the next Moab run, but do you guys think it would be okay if we did the Moab run in March?(PLEASE)

Looks Great

Hey great site Brian! What did you use to get the video from your camera to your computer? Dazzle or some other card?
I've been looking for something like that to upload video, tell me what you suggest, what to look for and what to stay away from.
Thanks and again great job,
