CD changer help 97 explorer

My explorer has the 6 CD changer with the rear audio controls. The radio works fine, but the CD changer will read and load a CD just fine. It seems to be playing it, but I hear nothing. Like it's muted or something.

Would the headphone symbol on the radio mean anything? What does this symbol mean? I cant turn it off. The button on the rear controls barely pushes in and doesnt affect radio. I've plugged in headphones to the rear controls and I cant hear anything from it.


Can anyone help fix my CD player? I've thought about just finding a factory single CD player to swap with radio but I dont want to loose the rear controls.
