I was just lookin' around on some sites and found this Centrifugal Supercharger for 5.0 X'.

FORD EXPLORER 5.0L 96-97 (6 PSI) - POLISHED $ $ 4163.95

Why so much??????

Plus why is it only for the 5.0????

where did you find it for that much? u can probably get it for 3 something. from what i know, they dont have superchargers for the sohc. but alec has one for his OHV. u can probably get a custom one made to fit ur sohc with enough money

Steeda makes a modified vortech supercharger. you can find it Dead Link Removed

i'd go for a roots version though, like the BBK version. its also a few hundred cheaper.

both of these are for the OHV V6

OH...MY...GOD!!! that is just insane. www.superchargersonline.com has the 5.0 powerdyne (i assume the one you saw was a powerdyne) for like $2800. $4200? that is just highway robbery ( i can think of a few other more "colorful" phrases...)

cheap s/c...

as many of you know, i bought one on here from someone and although I had some missing parts and a few headaches, I wound up paying about $1400 :D for a powerdyne blower.

how much boost are you running? did you take it to the track yet?

finally...

I have finally gotten the s/c in and she runs great... today is the first day blown after a two month process but it is in. I, obviously, have not taken her to the track yet till breakin is up (about a week) then I will go and run 1/4, 1/8 and 0-60. I am pushing 9lbs.
