How easy would it be to just replace the timing chain tensioners in my 99 sohc? I dont really wanna tear through the whole front of the motor to replace everything cause i dont really have the time or money to do so and i dont know how difficult these motors can be. any help would be greatly appreciated!

to change the left side: lift the intake manifold and replace the oring at the same time.
to change the right side: take out the wheel to acces to the tensioner.

I just got done with having my 99' completely redone. It even had the Tensioner update done twice and still the marbles came back. Ford ended up pulling the moter and replacing everything and so far that has solved the problem. Thank god for extended warranty's! For some reason the 99's slider shoes wore out prematurely and eventually it gets past the point to where the tensioners have a hard time keeping proper tension. After seeing the wear I dont know how the chains even stayed on! You didnt say if you had the tensioner update or not but maybe thats all you need. Good Luck!
