Hi,
I have a 93 explorer. I want to change out my factory cassette player with an aiwa cd player. I went to best buy and bought the wire harness that is supposed to work. The power part of it works and the player gets power but the speakers have no sound. The harness fits and everything but no sound. The speaker part has the small square type with the four prong female end. Best Buy told me my x has the factory amp in it. I'm sure I connected the wires right. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brandon

You need a amp bypass, best buy should have one for you:D

If you've got the factory amp you either have to bypass it or wire it up to the 'remote lead turn on' of your new head unit. If the amp isn't on it won't let any signal through. Your best bet would be to buy a bypass harness for it. It will sound better than if you run the new head unit through the old amp.

definitely bypass the factory amp. if you dont, it will burn up soon anyway.

death to factory amplifiers.
