changing air ride

Hello!! to everybody my name is J. Martinez i have a 96 explorer limited which comes with the air ride control i want to replace all 4 shocks(gabriel max control or bilstein) and i was wondering its there mayor mods i have to do to mount them. all comments welcome

Welcome to this forum! Are these shocks the type which require an external compressor to pump them up or are they the type with the dial to set the level of bounce (firm to loose or sport ot luxury)?

i just want to take the original air ride out of the xplorer because the rear of my X lower that the front and i assumed is because the shocks

No the rear end sag is from spring sag not the shocks.
