Changing from rds 7000 to rds 6006

I have a '99 XL with the rds 7000 HU which is compatible with a cd changer.

I don't have, or want, a cd changer separately so I was thinking of fitting an rds 6006 which has a built-in 6cd changer via the front slot.

My question is if I fit this will the back seat controls still work?

Hi, further to the cd saga I have bought a 2nd hand refurbished rds6000 single cd/radio. Having installed it I have found that it all works fine except for the rear controls, none of which work. I have plugged all 3 plugs in but on the 7000 I had to set it in the menu so that the rear controls worked and I can't do that with the 6000.
Does anyone know if there is something I am doing wrong or should I complain to the company I bought the radio from (12 months warranty)?
