93 Explorer-4WD I want to change the rear diff. fluid but I need to make sure where the "filler" hole is. I want to take the cover off and drain the oil. I just got done looking for the filler hole and what I found was a bolt on the top of the diff with a wire connection attached to it. Is this the filler hole and what is the wire connection for? Thanks for the help! John

The fill hole should be on the top front side.

Are you going to use synthetic oil?

Good luck ....

It'll be on the front upper driverside of the diff. Look for a plug with a square recessed 'hole'. It takes a 3/8" drive rachet and extension to remove.

By the way, the wire and all is your speed sensor for the rear wheels! The ABS ring is on the ring gear - you'll see it when you pull the cover!
