Check Engine Flasing While Towing

Hi all. New Sport Trac owner ('07 Limited 4X4 V8 - 95000kms). Have had the truck just 3 weeks.

Just went and picked up a snowmobile trailer yesterday (about 600lbs) and on the drive home the check engine light would come on, flashing, and the go out after a while. Seemed to lose power when it came on.

Anyone know what would cause this? I leave tomorrow for a 3 hour drive with the sleds on the trailer (an extra 1100 lbs) and I'm a little worried!

Does it not display a check engine light afterwards? Go get the codes pulled and post them. Generally a misfire will set off the flashing light which indicates eminent damage to the converters and/or engine itself. Have it check out immediately.
