so I cleared it once and it came back again. i also am in the process of fixing a coolant leak is it possible that coolant contamination could have damaged the sensor? has anyone had experience replacing the CPS? any advice would be appreciated.

this is my first time doing anything with the mounty in years it was passed down to my little bro so im not as knowledgeable about the engine as i used to be.

thanks for the link. the thing with the black arrow pointing towards it is copletely missing on my mounty. does that mean i need to replace the synchro?

nevermind I pulled the sensor off and found total destruction of the magnet and the reluctor wheel on the top of the shaft. I bought the only new assembly that was available today which was a chinese balkamp unit from napa. now since the alignment tool is useless for finding TDC on the old unit what is gonna be the easiest way for me to find TDC?

you guys know any tricks to removeing a stuck cam synchro? the new one went in but on start up had no oil presure. The housing of the synchro is not stuck but the shaft is frozen and when the starter is bumped the shaft doesn't move. WTF?!
