Started my 2003 XLT this morning to go to work and got the "check engine" light after about a minute or so. The truck was running fine so I drove it to work anyway. When I arrived, I noticed the fuel guage was sitting at empty when the tank was full. I'm guessing this is why it threw the code. I shut the engine off, restarted it, and the guage worked and the light disappeared.
Anyone have an idea why this happened? I'm guessing if there is an issue it's within the float/pump system inside the tank? I've read that two cans of SeaFoam at fillup may help break up the sulfur buildup that may cause this issue, any thoughts on that?
Thanks, fellas!
