i was pulling up to my house when the ABS light came on and stayed on until i shut off the engine and now when ever i turn the engine on the check oil light comes on and i was wondering what would cause the check oil light to stay on? its about time for an oil change should i go ahead and get one?

any help would be appreciated

yes an it did not look low

tomorrow i will get an oil change and see if that helps

try the oil change out, the check engine light maybe came on because you've got low, LOW oil in the truck, either its low or incredibly dirty... more likely that not, you'll need to pour in a good 5 quarts of oil to maybe alleviate the problem

mine does the same thing. does your gauge read like its normal pressure? i know i have EXACTLY 5 quarts(dipstick was in range as well) but i keep getting the light. some say its a bad sending unit.

Maybe a problem with a sending unit, but if you keep getting the light, I think it might be more of a bad sensor. If you can, get it checked out. The gauge should read at "normal" pressure... no higher or lower than in the middle of the band.

alright guys heres the deal my Rear Main Seal has started leaking i understand this is a pretty big job not quite sure what to do yet so input will be appreciated

so far i am going to keep adding oil and try to measure how much falls when the car sit at night so i can judge how serous the problem is. i was told replacing the seal would be around 500 dollars but there is also a chemical treatment not too sure about the these chemical treatments seems like a bandaid on a compound fracture to me.

More like "black magic". If the seal is bad, it needs to be replaced.

Good luck....
