Well I rerouted my intake, it's now on the driver side. This is a crude design right now. It'll work fine but I'm gonna change it a little bit within the next couple days. I feel I'm getting better air flow, since the filter is sitting only inches from a good sized opening. In the old location it was pretty close to the engine, and I have headers, so it gets really hot around there. My only question is, can I get a breather filter for where the breather tube is right now? I'd rather put a filter then have a tube hanging off. Check out the pics!

A good quality vent filter for that breather should be ok.

Lookin' sweet!

I have wanted to do this. Your pics are kind of close-up but it looks like the air filter is aimed "downwards".
Did you cut and remove the washer fluid reservoir?

No I didn't, the only thing cut was the aluminum tube. I bought the intake kit on here, haven't seen one anywhere else like it.

If you hit a big puddle and the water flys in front, will your intake take up that water?

I think the water evaporates once it hits the filter, but there are never bid puddles around here anyways.

wouldn't the water have to defy alot of gravity to work its way up the tube though, so even if you did it should be ok or so i'd think

See that black bolt in the far upper left of your first picture??

I NEED THAT BOLT!! :) I dropped mine once and have never found it...since then my plastic shield has been held on by 1 bolt...

That's hilarious! I lost one of my bolts too.. so the shield is being held on by one!

It is hard to tell from the pics.........how low is the cone sitting?

-No, the water will not evaporate when it hits the filter

-No, water going up the tube is not a matter of gravity. The intake acts like a big vacuum cleaner nozzle.:)

The cone is sitting at the very front, resting right above a hole. I still don't think any water will make it in there.

My neighbor gave me a breather filter today, clean K&N for free!

any performance gains?

It seemed to be more responsive, but that might just be in my head.. I know it's getting better air flow though.
