This was under my 93 I bought 2 months ago. I was shocked it was holding 32PSI. I removed it this weekend to replace the shocks. Glad I did. This was not visible when it was on the X.

Bloody hell!!!

Firestone?

That's what happens when a tire sits undisturbed for 18 years or so...Lucky you checked it before you actually needed it.

I thought you'd run over a werewolf.

just put some super glue in there, she'll be good to go!

Firestone?

A Uniroyal.
Crazy thing. I was filling it with air using my compressor when I was ready to put it back on. I never saw the condition till I was ready to put it back. I checked the pressure & wanted 38PSI in it. I was puzzled why it would not go past 32psi. Then I picked the tire up & saw it.
I immediately pulled the valve stem plunger & deflate the tire. I did not want it blowing out in my garage.

put some rtv in the cracks and you'll be good to go! LOL

what kind of shape was the rim in?

mine was completely rusty when I pulled it out from under my EX. had to scrape it down and paint it. it never went back under the truck though.

Good thing the cracks are not in the sidewall, if they were, it couldnt be repaired.....

What is the manufacturing date?

097?

You should probably post the sidewall view, or the tire model, size, etc. so noone else buys one. I sure wouldn't want to buy a tire that does that, even from age or misuse. Looks like the rubber compound just didn't hold together when the rest of it was drying out. Yikes.

Hopefully it is a really old model they don't make anymore, and they don't use that tread compound in any new ones, either.

Might be some interesting long term reviews on it.
