I just stole my girlfriends grandfathers SSR for the weekend, and damn.
Its brand new with the 6.0 LS2
and Heavy-Duty 4spd Auto :thumbdwn: This thing just hauls, putting down around 300Ft/lbs just above idle and 400hp/400ftlbs max. ALso avaliable with an older 5.3 V8 (LS1?) and a 6-spd Manual (T-56)
5-link rear with some nice wide P295/40R-20 in the rear and with the LS diff it really hooks up well, but if you turn off the traction control you can still spin em if you punch it around 50mph. Handling is VERY tight, feels like a sports car.
It is a little hard to see out of, with huge blind spots and the bulged out fenders make getting into parking spots a little tight. Other than that, and the bowtie on the grille, no complaints.
Also, one of the nifty little chevy gadgets was a factory installed Torque gauge showing how many ft/lbs one was applying.
The speedo tops at 150 but I think its got quite a bit more left, never got the chance to find out. Had it to 130 and it still rode clean and smooth, little noisy because its a convertible but it certainly a head turner.
