Ok then it might just be spacers. Maybe the 4th gen is the one that had a quicklift for it. Let me check

maybe they dont make em anymore??

I found something on ebay thats a 3" using your factory coils... from what ive read the 2" cause a bit of issue due to limited down travel. So i think 2" would be more preferable... but not quite enough i dont think...
A body lift is still needed imo
I foud a body lift for explorer sport tracs...
Does anyone know if that works on an eddie bauer 04 explorer?

ST explorers rode on the 2nd gen chassis so no I dont think it would work.

I found post elsewhere of a 3" BL PA883 being installed on a gen3... step by step directions and pics to help.
That pa883 is actually for an earlier ranger...

What can you guys who have the lifted struts or spacers tell me about the drivability with those installed?
Im reading that the ride is pretty crunch and the suspension rebound is terrible...
Id like to know from you guys who dive these rigs on the regular...

Id also like to know more on wheel size and offsets for the gen 3... how far can i push out there with minimal rubbing?

Is anybody familiar with the lift spindles?
Will the steering knuckles for a 2000 ranger 2wd fit the gen 3 2wd explorers?

Interesting. Afaik for Gen 3 the frame mounting etc is different

Or knuckles for the 01-05 ST?
Afaik the ranger & explorers of that vintage had torsion bars and as such wouldnt work w the coil sprung ones. But I might be wrong?

Your 4.6 2-valve is a good engine....(3-valve version not so much, your year the 4.6 only came in the 2 valve)...heard of them going well beyond the 200K you currently have, of course depends on if the P.O. took care of it, didn't abuse it etc...

It seems pretty good so far... i do hear a little noise but feel like its in the drive belt system... i hope its in the drive belt system...
It has a little oil leakage i believe to be the filter adapter gasket or oil sending unit there on... these gaskets are very prone to failure, so.... i will replace and see how it works out.

Pretty sure the knucles wont work.
That BL tho i think will, being that i read all the directions provided and looked at the progress with detailed pics start to finished product in his pics...
Also comtacted manufacturer who said it wont work because the earlier ranger has a solid rear axle where my 04 Ex has independent rear suspension, and may not allow the rear bumper to be raised...
What the axle set up has to do with the body lift... and a rear bumper i do not know...
The guys post says on the 3" BL you just flip and mount the rear bumper.upside down and remove some of the styrofoam and its good... the cover goes on with no problem other than a little trimming around the reciever hitch corners...
Right now im gonna focus on getting a rear end built for it and installed with fresh wheel bearings and strut assemblies....
Get everything healthy on the stock level then start modifications....
