I think it looks like a piece from a SOHC 4.0, the front cassette steel reinforcement component.

But it could be the later design of front tensioner, that might be a single steel spring from one of those. The older design tensioners had very thin steel strips, several stacked together in that one tensioner.

Does anyone have a full picture of the two cassettes? I only replaced my front one, and didn't take a picture of it before installing it, shown below;

good point, i was thinking that but it appears as if that OP has a 4.6 ST. they dont share tensioners right?

Was it a V8, I saw the other thread but I didn't see that? The 4.6 is nothing like the 4.0, they have I think smaller and mechanical tensioners(internal springs).

apparently it says 4.6

Ouch, I'm sorry I forgot to look at the original post this time, I went back to the picture alone. Someone here that knows the 4.6, I hope comes along and clarifies what that part is.

it still looks like a timing tensioner spring or the backing of one of the guides (the part the actual tensioner pushes on)

I looked at 4.6 timing components online with no real clear results, however it does look like it could fit one of the chain guides.

Hoping the OP will chime in, it likely came off the timing components he was replacing
We need more info like
Is it running now?
Why did it need new timing parts and oil pump?
