The maps are here; http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/wenatchee/cle-elum-orv/orv-maps.html

Scroll down to the second set and look at the lower left map. Lots more wheeling but I've never been there. Dreamr and I were planning on exp[loring that area last year but we just couldn't get away from Fortune Creek.

If they say "more difficult"= the 4W304 we should all still be good to go. If not, I think there are enough seats between DWD, Dreamr and I.

If this looks good, we need a plan to catch Kevin tomorrow evening and Bryce on Saturday. I could've swore there is a campground there. I'll have to do some more internet digging this evening.

Post up guys!!

I'm on my way home now and need to know what's up. It will take me about an hour to get there so hopefully by the time I get there I can check back and see if I need to load the camper or not.

Just give me GPS coordinates to a meeting point and I'll find my way. I will be on the road by noon tomorrow which would put me in the North bend area by 2 or 3 at the latest.

Im not sure of the areas so i trust that you can make a decision that we all could agree would be enjoyful and safe. Hows fortune creek.

do we have a decision yet, i have to still get some stuff but am not going to bother if were not.

OK, part of me says don't push this but the bigger part says go to the Swuak/Table Mountain area.

I tried to call the ranger station to ask the ORV ranger about the trail difficulty but they are all up at the fire.

There is a good open free campground; http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/wenatchee/cle-elum-orv/liberty-campground.html

The overall travel time is about the same. The trails will be more difficult but that may be more fun.

I'm up for Swuak/Table Mountian  ,,,,,anyone else?? :p (besides Kevin)

BTW, Jeff and Jon, if you don't have tow hooks,, get them! We'll put them on at the campground. I'll bring a cordless drill and a couple of versa bits.

if no ones been there before, im going to have to say no thanks, Im not going to attempt a hard ass trail, and seeing theres no info on the difficulty i have nothing to go on. Also its kinda late for me to get two hooks unless they sell them at auto zone. Also is this a single group site or a wide open site were tons of others will be camping with us.

You need tow hooks anyway and yes, they sell them at Autozone.

We'll never know the trail difficulty until someone goes there any sees them personally. We can all go to the trail head and walk it, then decide what rigs will do it. If it's too much, camp Friday night and go home Saturday.

You saw the pictures of the camp site, I'm sure we can 'stake a claim' to a fairly large area so we aren't on top of each other. I have no idea how many other people would be there, but since this isn't Labor Day Weekend, I don't expect it to be packed. You never know though

I'm up for it

I'm in. As far as the trail difficulty, if it gets too rough, turning arround is not a big deal. I honestly think that you are not putting enough faith in the capabilities of your X. Besides, if someone has been there before, it's not "Exploring" any more. Most of the trails out there are numbered and labled as Forest Service (FS) ROADS. Have you ever seen a forest service truck or park ranger truck as built as mine? NO. Come out try it out, see how it goes and go from there. Not to be anti-sematic, but if you didn't have some sort of adventure, you wouldn't be where your at now.

I have been on many runs with stock vehicles and we are careful not to hurt much, but if your affraid of knocking the rust off your frame rails or rubbing your paint on a bush or two, then I really think you should reconsider what it is you actually want to do with your Ex. Nobody is going to put you in a position that will completely total your rig or make it undriveable. I can't gaurantee no breakage, but sometimes the wierdest crap breaks for no apparent reason, but then I have also seen things that should have broke and never did. It's all part of the sport.

Nough said......................

Im going to go, but if it gets to hard im turning arround, so what are the meeting times and such, Ill talk to john so we are still meeting at 10 at the same spot.

Bryce??? how about here???

I would not consider the area a wheeling trip. I followed the road to it's end in my Mustang :D

Just before it splits to go to the Rock Rabbits There are three rocks that sorta block the road, I made it over in my truck once, but won't do it again considering the damage to the undercarriage..... It looked like someone had winched on of the rock over enough to get through last time I was up there.

Hmm now that I read the rest.........

I am curious about seeing the table mountain area as well........It is awful close to the areas currently burning however, so I wonder just how long it will be open. Perhaps we should stay on the west slope of the cascades.

Whatever works I suppose.....I am felxible, but keep in mind that I have an unknown front end issue. Get me on really rough terrain and we might discover what it is the hard way....So far I can't find it even after replacing everything but the CV's, but........ Hmm wonder what a new set of CV's to toss in the tool box will run me.

Kevin and I are going to Swuak/Table Mtn. We're camping at the Liberty-Williams Creek campground.

See you Saturday morning!

I printed up maps for everyone :D

I always have the trailer and if worse comes to worse we'll get you home. However, I know several that have carried a spare CV shaft. From what I remember, they aren't that exspensive and might even be the same for both sides. I watched GJarrett swap one out at the Moab camp ground in less than a couple of hours and saw another swaped in T-haven. They were both swaped at camp so that tells me there is some how a way to limp it back to camp.

We'll be at the junction of SR-18 and I-90 at 10:00

10:15 and we head East ;)

Ok so john and I are going and will meet you there at 10, Phil I went to every stupid auto plpace on the island and could not find tow hooks, is there a place on the way we can stop.
