Hey, long-time lurker, first time poster!
My second Explorer, a silver '07 is tip-top and I'm loving it as a road queen as much as I love my modded '97 beater for the trails, but I'm running into a minor detailing problem that has annoyed me for so long I've decided to do something about it.
It's like the weather stripping inside the door sucks or something, because when rolling up or down the front passenger side window, this gunk (probably soap remnants or oil) applies to the window. It's hard to see in the photo (I did a partial wipe and said "forget this, I'm gonna fix it!"), but a good 2-3 inch-wide line of stuff gets on the window with each roll. Clean the truck, gunk goes right back on the window.
I've tried jamming pipe cleaners down into each side of the weather stripping, but as I figured, it was a waste of time. Any suggestions to fix this short of taking it to a glass installer and having them clean the rollers and inside of the door? Thanks!
