The kicker is that I bought a new throttle body and installed it before I went to the dealer, from Rockauto. Little did I know the fried harness fried the new throttle body somehow. So I went through two throttle bodies before the Motorcraft one just installed. As I was disassembling the original throttle body, I could see the melted wires on the harness. I tried to tape them to separate them. I know I was in for it. And the stumbling was an injector that I would have never tested.
I recently installed a new AAA battery, fan clutch, alternator (130), water pump, radiator - flushed twice, cleaned the MAF, distributor, plugs, wires, And I just received the gaskets for the intake manifold. The scrapes on my right hand are evidence of the PCV and tube being replaced. I think (knock on wood) the only thing left is to wait for the timing chain guides to fail. 126,000 on the odo. Once the manifold is out, I'm going to noid test all the connector. I really can't afford six new injectors at this point. unless I have to. I change my oil every 3,000 miles to keep those guide rails lubed well.
Once received I'll post my oil analysis from Blackstone of a 3,000 mile change and a 100 mile change with Seafoam mailed last week. That should be interesting. I may send a sample of my tranny fluid too. I always run synthetic, I thought it wold clean my engine. The 100 mile seafoam change looked like running mud. I did a fluid and filter flush too just to get any remaining gunk out of the engine. I think that was a good idea. I used O'riellys synthetic and a migroguard filter for $21. I'm going to run it for 100 miles and send that to Blackstone too. One positive is the ticking/lifter sound went way for now.
When I need a new motor I'll have to wait until my wife goes out of town or she'll force me to put a .308 round into the radiator and bury the car.....not literal!!! It's still cheaper than a new truck.
