yeah..overspray suck's..but a good clay bar would fix it

It would be nice if I could do that, but I cant do it in the garage cause it gets the floor all nasty. At least down here, when you paint them and then go through any kind of the clay we have your wheel wells are back to stained in no time. That is why I use armor all, you can just hit it with a little greased lightning and it is gone and so is the dirt. Granted, paint may be more permanent, but is is just not needed around here becuase the time and effort needed to paint them and tape parts off is not worth the outcome.

I never masked anything, truck bed coating was thick enough that it caused zero overspray, all there was was the smell of it. No mist at all. worked perfect. I also don't really like the look of shiny fender wells.

We should see some pictures of these suggestions yall make. Then it would be easier to compare how the final product looks. How about it guys and gals, post some pics of them wheel wells.

i have some pics's somwhere...but i would have to find them..it makes them look showroom new

I just used semi-gloss black spray paint.

go with petroleum jelly on a lint free cloth (cheaper) it's actually what hot rod mag
said to use on paint to keep tar and molten rubber from sticking to the paint! just put it on thinly

I use simple green to clean and then shot it with No Touch tire foam,It turns out pretty good looking.
I also agree about having a clean truck and having dirty brown wheel wells looks like crap, spend the extra five minutes and finsh it off so it looks good

TAS98xlt has me convinced to use some paint.... :D

I doubt explorers come from the factory nearly as clean as tas's....

I also use Simple Green to clean them. Hose it off and let it dry. Then spray it with a tire foam. Looks really good. That area has to look nice since I put on my new 22s. That area gets a lot of attention. I also started to spray my black running boards with the tire foam and it makes a big difference. Had somebody the other day ask me if I got new running boards.
