When I drive, I hear a clicking sound just behind the gauges. Does anybody have any clue as to what this is? It's driving me insane.

Your speedo cable might be slipping a bit...if you have one that is....hmm

if it's a rapid clicking, like a rattling sound, it may be the timing chain tensioner gone bad. That's what's happening on my '99 SOHC. There was a recall, but my truck is about 30k miles past Ford's mileage limit. But basically it occurs in the midrange of the rpm band, like 2500-4500 rpm or so.

PS: Welcome to the board. :) There aren't many New Englanders here so it's nice to see another. If you're into the off-roading scene, there's a little run being put together for this Sunday, the 2nd of November. It's near Nashua in a town called Brookline, NH.

NO NO!!

I know about this sort of... I have it too now. My wife use to have it in her escort and now I have it in my ex. It started after I insalled my body lift. My wife started after a fender bender.

From what I can tell.... Something has jared the speedo outof wak kinda. It still works but makes this weird noise when driving (only when speedo moves). Like glass shards rolling around kinda.

No cable:rolleyes:

izackary, I'm a big fan of VT, I have friends who live in Woodford and we're always up there... I'd love to one day move up. Brookline is right near where I went to school. I'd head up but I'll be away this weekend.

Stic-o, you're describing it perfectly, what the heck can i do about that? (besides keep the radio on:) )
