Clunk when hitting a bump.

Not sure what is causing noise. When I hit bumps in road, makes a loud clunking sound. Not sure if bearings or bushings need lubed or what the problem is. Help? Also need to know HOW to lube the bearings and bushings. Thanks

Check your sway bar ( front and rear ) end links.

It's probably the radius arm bushings. The passenger side one tends to wear out pretty fast because of the heat from the exhaust. The noise could also be your ball joints. Jack up each of the front tires and feel for play by trying to rock the tire holding it at 12 and 6 o'clock. Any play is too much.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the stock 1991-1994 Explorer section for you. Any suspension or drivetrain component could make knocking noises if it is loose, cracked or just plain worn out with age/mileage. How many miles does it have? Critical components are ball joints, tie rod ends, and U joints. Sometimes loose caliper bolts could make noise, and cause a brake failure, so it's very important to examine everything even after you find the part which is making the noise.

Cruz: this is the 1991-1994 section. Out suspensions are completely different from yours. Post a thread (search first) in the section for your year truck and you'll probably get some answers. And BTW, you are correct, you DON'T have RA bushings.
