I am in the process of swapping a manual trans into my 96 and I have done a few searches but haven't found anything.

what do you do with the clutch position switch? do i have to swap the entire harness over?
do I splice into my harness?

any info would be appreciated thanks.

I can't answer your questions, but do you want to have it functioning, or do you just think it needs to be hooked up for things to all work?

Welcome to the forum, btw.

I dont care if it works I just want to make sure the car will start, I know you have to have the clutch pressed in for it to start. or is there a way around it?

If your Ex had an auto originally, I dont see how it would be an issue. Do you somehow have a switch that came with the clutch pedal that you're swapping in?

There's several threads here where people have done this swap, and I vaguely recall something about the wiring being there in auto Exs, you just tap into it, if you wanted to have the switch functioning. I would search a little and read up.

im pulling parts from a donor car that has been rolled, I am swapping the ECU with it. and the clutch position switch is tied into the dash harness, I dont want to have to swap all of that as well.

I decided to just swap the harness in the dash all at once that way everything works as it should.

The clutch switch is a PCM input on a manual PCM. So if you have a manual PCM, you need to have a working switch input (or otherwise overridden).

I just swapped the PCM and the dash harness so I have the switch wired right. it only took a little extra time and now I dont have to mess with it.
