Do all year Cobra wheels fit on Explorers? Also, what are the wheel spacers used for when fitting the Cobra rims to Explorers? And what thickness is needed or used for these spacers? I am interested in fitting '99 Cobra wheels (17x8)to my '97 Explorer and your answers and imput would greatly help!

I don't know if this helps, because I used the older model Cobra Wheels on an older model Explorer, but I had to use 1-1/2" wheel adapters to make them fit in the front, and 1-1/4" adapters in the rear. I have six adapters for sale if you want them, just make me an offer. You'd proabably want the extras in case one of the lugs broke off or something of that sort.

Thanks Mudd*****. I have no clue what the spacers go for so you might have to set me a price buddy!! Are the spacers needed for tire clearence or rim clearence? So the only way the rims and tires will clear is with these spacers? Can I get away without using the spacers on a stock, no lift Explorer? And are the spacers needed for both front and back? Sorry for so many questions guys but I really wanna get the rims to fit properly. Thanks again!!

They are needed for rim clearance. the back spacing on a mustang wheel is very different than that of a truck. If you were to bolt the cobra wheels straight to your truck, they would be tucked way under the wheel wells, and would conflict with the shocks/springs/brakelines/etc. Also, the center hole of the cobra R wheels will not clear the hubs on the front axle. I am not sure what the wheel spacers go fo these days, but I paid 150$ for each of three pairs. As mine are used, and are not in the most perfect condition, I'd take $150 obo for all six (three pair), plus shipping.
here are some pics of my truck when I had the Cobra R wheels on it.

Those rims really made your truck look great. How come you changed out? How much did your tires stick out of the fender wells with the Cobra R's on? Was it just the sidewall of the tires that was sticking out or was it a block or two of tread? And which tire and size did you have on at that time? Looks like you had a stock lift on the truck which is what I have.

Stock suspension, the tires did not stick out much at all, an inch at the most, and that was with the spacers. I decided to take them off because I got a superlift 5.5 suspension system, so I needed bigger tires to along with that. The tires in that pic are Mickey Thompson Baja Belted Radials 31x1150x17. I went with 33x1250x15 thornbirds to go with my lift. The only other size tire I could find for the cobra wheels was a 34x1150x17, and I just felt that that was too skinny, so I got some steel rims and thornbirds instead.
