So I'm trying to pass a smog test here Nevada on. 2003 explorer.
It had code PO133. Oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1
Changes fuel &air filter along with the bank 1 sensor.
50miles driven and lights comes on again with code PO153 =bank 2 sensor 1
What could it be damaging the sensors. Before it only had code 133 i fixed it comes PO133. I hate this damn thing
Does cleaning sensors help? Any inputs will be appreciated
Danny

How did the O2 that you took out look? Was it all fouled or white? Too rich or lean conditions can mess with the O2s which could be caused by exhaust leak, engine misfire, dirty/faulty MAF meter, vacuum leak, etc.

P0133 possible causes could be:
1.contaminated or deteriorating HO2S
2.exhaust leaks
3.short or open wiring on O2 harness
4.dirty or faulty MAF sensor
5.inlet air leaks
6.incorrect fueling
this info is from Ford Service Information-Powertrain DTC charts and description
I can post how to do the pinpoint test but this require Mode 6.
