The first time I start my explorer every morning, after it has cooled down, it has a hard time starting up. IT revs up to around 2000, and then drops down to barely running, jumping up in revolutions occasionally. Most of the time, I have to start it two or three times before I can get it running. We have tried to fix the problem several times, but can't seem to find it. Could you possibly give me a solution to this problem?

Try unplugging the TPS sensor and see if the problem goes away. Quite possibly a TPS problem. Unplugging causes the computer to use table values (yeah it will throw a code too) but it is a useful and easy way to see if the TPS is your problem.

Try cleaning the IAC. See the Cleaning the IAC thread for details.
