Colorado Colors Run 2002

This thread sure isn't looking promising. With only a month left before Labor Day I wonder if we can even get campsites and rooms over the holiday weekend...

Anything to get out of Greeley! Count me in-
Im gonna be running a pretty close to stock explorer sport, how crazy do you guys get out there? My vote is for Colorado.
Happy Trails

I checked the oncall schedule at work this weekend and I'm the primary oncall person for that weekend, so I won't be leaving the Houston area then.

Thanks for calling around Rick. If you want me to help with anything just let me know.

The Ouray area isnt bad. I will be running a "super stock" and the trails I plan to do are all rated easy to moderate so I am sure you would be able to do it.

Great-
Labor Day weekend sounds fine to me
If you guys need help setting it up just tell me what I can do-
:)

LOL :D

How crazy you get depends mostly on you! If you feel like your truck (and more importantly, the person DRIVING IT) can do it without slowing down the big boys too bad (and you have sufficient lack of regard for your truck  ) you can have a LOT of fun out there. Most of the big dawgs have been to this area before (ala CCR 2000) and they can tell you if the trails require real ground clearance or just smart wheel placement, real lockers or just clever use of your left foot, etc.

My poor truck did a truly heroic job on the modified/big dawg trails at CCR 2001, but I did take some licks. And I'll be honest, I was probably not wise it dragging BamBam up Wheeler Lake.

But on the other end of the spectrum, the purely stock runs are completely "doable" by anyone with a hardy Ford Explorer regardless of your driving ability. I strongly recommend attending this event to anyone who can get there. No matter how you classify your self (and your truck) you'll learn a lot about what they really can do and you'll meet some really stellar people.

so lets get rolling!!!

Well the time is quickly approaching for labor day weekend. It is obvious that nothing official is going to be organized but James (Climbnkd) and I are still willing to come to CO and do some wheeling if there will be other explorers there. If you are willing to go, commit now and we can all just meet in Ouray and do some wheeling.

What's the deal?!

This is depressing. I leave Colorado for a few months and the whole place falls apart! ;)

Come on, Colorado Contingent. You're falling down on the job. You have to remember that the rest of the country doesn't get to play in those mountains every free weekend.

I'm just giving you all a hard time. I don't have the dough to get BamBam in shape for this year, but I know that plenty of folks would still be willing to make the drive if someone up there would just get a trail book and post a message! Who shall lead us?
