I was sitting around yesterday thinking about what color my next explorer is going to be. My 98 has Pacific Green exterior (i do like it) which i think is the hardest color to keep clean and looking nice. It seems to show everything. I was wondering if there are other colors out there to stay away from and what are the best ones to hide dirt and small inperfections. And what is the favorite color combo (interior, exterior, trim) out there among explorer fans. thanks

Exterior BLACK black is a huge , huge pain to maintain , but when black looks good , black looks great. Interior , I dunno , not black I guess. Too hot in summer. Tan I guess , all what I currently have.

I used to have a dark grey Mercury Cougar. Actually, it was technically called, "Dark Titanium Opal". But anyway, if you're just talking about day-to-day staying clean, dark grey is amazing.

I have what I guess is a very rare color green. Thats what people tell me anyway. There have been many people that have complimented me on the color thinking that I had the truck painted that color. I think it goes well with my tan interrior.

my mom used to have a silver honda that thing never looked dirty

Hey is your X that Tropical Jungle Green or some thing like that? That's what I have and don't see many X's in this color.

My favorite color combo is dark blue with grey interior. My second choice would be Silver on grey. Either way you can't go wrong.

mine is dark blue with grey (well, it has black primered body panels and is missing some parts too) i think my color rocks.....personally.... i like white, it will show dirt easily, but displays mud badges well, and doesnt show trail rash

Interior wise, I love the graphite (gray) shades that Ford offers. I had a Honda with tan inetrior and swore that I'd never go it again. I had the hardest time keeping it clean.

As for the exterior, funny even though my X is white, I just love a dark color car, black, dark blue, maroon, charcal. Actually, any color but yellow is fine with me. I was also fond of the bright red Ford use to offer on the XLS and Sport.

But my most favorite color, sorry I can't think of the specific name, was that royal electric blue color that Ford offered on the 97 Expedition and F-150. Maybe it was called "sonic" or some? That was SHARP!!!!!

98FordX24 i have the same color you have. I am looking at the sticker and it is called Pacific Green. There are alot of that color around where i live.

you can't make white paint look bad. it hides scratches and stuff really well, but it shows dirt when its not washed.

and the rare green puke interior with black accents like i have is the most desireable of all possible color combinations. lol, well aside from the fact that its green puke colored.

Ford blood runs BLUE.

Blue with "mocha"interior is my choice. Took me a while to do and my $1400 paint job is a POS. I paid way more then I should have for the seats, headliner, trim, etc and I still need carpet. But my favorite color for a Ford truck is dark blue metallic. :)

You can see the mud real good on blue :) , but its not a hard color to maintain....

I will be repainting the truck myself in the nextcouple years and will be using the same dark blue metallic.
Not tooo many blue Explorer's floating about either. I think the 93-94 Navajo in blue is one of the best looking trucks Ford ever built. :)

I had mine painted a dark metallic grey. Love the color, doesn't show dust too bad and went well with the 'shades of grey' interior.
