Does anyone have a suggestion on what to use in order to protect the computer when cleaning the engine???

Aluminum foil works amazingly. You can tuck it and mold it around everything well, making a super-splash-shield. Just be sure not to spray things directly as it won't be water-tight.

Don't spray the computer. Spray around it. If you spray directly at it well there is a good chance you'll drive water into it, but it should be pretty water tight as it is.
