Computer Update

My 02 V8 is going into the dealership today to get the computer software updated. Will this help? Did anyone ever notice a difference in anything after this was done?

I don't know the answer to your question... but I would like to know if the dealerships charge you for an a PCM Software upgrade...??

I'm sure that the dealer wouldn't do anything for free unless it were covered by the factory warranty, or was a recall.

I have a 2004 Grand Caravan that was starting to run poor with about 12k on it. I took it in for warranty and they changed the plugs, wires and updated the computer. I did not notice any difference in power or economy after the upgrade. The engine did run smooth again but I think that was mainly because of the plugs and wires. All of this was done 100% under warranty.
