Are you saying that the factory sub is cooked? And are you wanting to keep it in the location as the factory? What kind of budget are you in for?

Factory location
, but I read somewhere about replacing it with a 8in or a 10 inch.Wish I could find the exact JL audio 6.5.

JL audio makes the 6W0 6.5" sub which fits in the factory enclosure. It's a tad expensive at $80-100, but you can get them online for less. Otherwise, you can find various cheap 8 in. subs and modify the enclosue slightly for them to fit, or even better, get the JL 8W0 8" which isn't much more than the 6W0, and throw that in.

I located a 6wo @ SoundFX, but the back of the speaker doesn't fit into the circular piece that is on the inside wall. I guess I could cut that off, except it looks like it holds the back of the speaker up. It is expensive at $80. The tech said it must a newer design. Will I see any problems if I figure how to cut the support off??

You could cut the support off, assuming it won't leave a hole you'll have to repair. It might be easier to fabricate a ring to mount the sub on to move it farther from the back wall. For the difference in cost, check if an 8W0 will have the right depth with the 6.5" hole cut out to allow for the 8", it might be a better fit and of course an 8" will give better bass.

Decided to go o a salvage yard, and I picked up 2 for $10.00

If you want a great sub that's designed to fit that space. Check out MTX Thunderforms. They're expensive, but I have one in my other truck and it thumps!! They make various ones to fit specific vechiles.
