Anybody have a clue where this might be coming from. Wife called complaining of coolant smell and smoke with coolant leaking under car. I found this at the back of the engine but it had stopped smoking I’m not sure where it could be leaking at I’m more used to my 2nd gen

Rent or buy a coolant system pressure tester from autozone etc...
The leak will show itself quickly

X2, pressurize and listen/look for a leak.
Hard to tell by the pictures what exactly we're looking at here, heater core hoses possibly?

I think i found it. little cap on the passanger side by the firewall fell off when i touched it. guess ill have to replace that

I keep an extra in my glove box as that cap has burst 3 times now

I found buying those caps to be a waste of money -- they don't last. Buy a short section of heater hose, cap it with a sharkbite fitting, or a bolt and sealant, or whatever you can come up with. Use standard cam type hose clamps to assemble it. I had one of those caps with the spring type clamp and under hard acceleration, the cap flew off and coolant went everywhere.
